PRACTICE & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Michail Tsoukalas has a strong expertise in chemistry, in particular Natural products chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Organic compound screening, Pharmaceutical formulations. He joined ICOSA in 2017 as patent associate within the Biotech-Chemistry team, and drafts and prosecutes patent applications.

Michail Tsoukalas also graduated from the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) in 2016.

Pharmacist, awarded a PhD in natural products chemistry from the University of Strasbourg, he elucidated the structure of novel steroid glycosides and investigated their effect in the secretion of the hypoglycemic peptide GLP-1, directed by Dr. Annelise Lobstein.

Michail Tsoukalas published in international peer-reviews and presented his work at international conferences such as GA (Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research) and AFERP (Francophone Association for the Teaching and Research in Pharmacognosy).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CEIPI (Centre d’Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle) diploma, with Patent degree
  • PhD in Pharmacy from the Pharmacy school, under Dr Annelise Lobstein supervision, at the University of Strasbourg
