Professional experience

Franck Tetaz is a European and French Patent Attorney. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble. Franck began his career in intellectual property at the European Patent Office (EPO) as an examiner.

With 30 years of solid experience, Franck has worked in both IP firms and industry. He notably served as the Director of the Patent Department at Aventis CropSciences in Lyon, where he was responsible for patent-related matters in the biotechnology field. In that context, he successfully handled several litigation in the United States.

In 2003, Franck created and developed the local office of a prestigious French intellectual property firm in Lyon, supporting the growth of innovative SMEs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. In 2014, he established his own IP firm, Franck Tetaz Intellectual Property.

In 2018, in collaboration with Law Tech Link in Lyon and BCF in Montreal, Franck founded the BCF Global alliance. This alliance offers services covering Europe and North America, with qualified professionals capable of acting in the United States, Canada, Europe, and France. He teaches U.S. patent law at the Paul Roubier Center.

In June 2023, Franck Tetaz joined ICOSA as a partner.
